Deputy looks like a big dude. He might have indigestion. Deputy served court order to family that wouldn't stay in their apartment. That infuriates me even if the dude is ok. That family put him at risk with stupid wreckless behavior.

I have enough food for a few weeks
they are treating an ebola patient in a hospital across the street.
I will not leave my appartment very soon.
Also thinking about ordering a oxygen mask and air tanks in case the virus goes airbone.

Yeah guy had stomach pain & fatigue. If he had not been in the guys apartment, he probably would not have thought twice. Good caution exercised though still a little weary about him not just calling an ambulance.

DALLAS, TEXAS (NBC)- A Dallas County sheriff's deputy who was under observation has tested negative for the Ebola virus.

Sergeant Michael monning was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital after getting sick on Wednesday.
Officials said that he was hospitalized out of an abundance of caution although the risk was low.
Monning is not showing any signs of the virus, including fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
He had been inside the apartment where Thomas Eric Duncan was staying in the days before he became sick.
Officials say none of Duncan'S relatives have shown any symptoms of Ebola.

Yeah you have to wonder. They say it doesn't spread easy and that it has to be contact with bodily fluid in open cuts or orafices, then how the hell does someone wearing a hazmat suit get it?

Exactly. That can't be the case with every single person infected in Africa. Doctors are getting it.

They are saying that he possibly made errors in the removal of his gear but penetrate. I am a little worried. Patients in Africa doubling every 6 wks, currently 8,000 patients, means there could be close to 40,000 by Christmas. Right now there are only 3 cases outside Africa but with the incubation period, The heightened screenings at airport don't mean shit. They need to keep Africans in Africa. Let people go in to help if they want, but no one out without sitting in quarantine for 21 days with no symptoms.

Contracting the virus isn't as easy as what's lead to believe. You have a better chance at attracting HIV and the two are pretty similar on how it's spread. Needles and bodily fluids. But I can guarantee no one has slowed down their sex rate to avoid HIV so let's not try to freeze a whole country over something even less contagious. I think the only reason it's getting attention is because of the mortality rate once you do become infected.

Then how did the health care worker get it when he has been wearing a hazmat suit? They don't wear hazmat suits to care for hiv patients and health care workers don't catch hiv on the regular from caring for hiv patients.

Same way the nurse in Spain got it probably. Protective gear is a must, but there is still the matter of these people having to get out of that suit without contaminating themselves. Really sucks for them to be put into this situation. Godspeed to the recovery of this lady. I'm sure Jesse Jackson is just waiting to pounce if she is treated and recovers.

My best guess is a mistake with normal protocol. I'm sure more information will come this week. Are you suggesting it's airborne? Because that's simply not true.

I have no idea. I am just saying it is much more contagious than HIV. If only from the simple fact that Ebola patients secrete a lot of body fluids.
