While the chances are low, doing something as major as we did behind the scenes may have had an effect. Example a JS or CSS resource may have been dropped while our load balancer was re-routing traffic to another server. Additionally, we have found the culprit causing the 503 server errors, and have mitigated the problem. We are rolling out a permanent fix shortly.

this is not a new issue - do a quick cross browser testing for a simple thing like typing up a msg....IE and Safari are both experiencing the same problem
