2009 nfl draft wonderlic scores have leaked
    STAFFORD POSTS HIGH WONDERLIC SCORE

Georgia’s Matthew Stafford did not throw during the Scouting Combine, but he stood out among quarterbacks taking the Wonderlic test.

According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, Stafford scored a 38.

The other top quarterback prospects fared well also. USC’s Mark Sanchez got 28 of the 50 questions correct, and Kansas State’s Josh Freeman nothced a 27.

Last year, Matt Ryan reportedly scored a 32, and Joe Flacco posted a 27.

Among receivers, Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin stood out with a 25. The other top prospects were not as impressive. Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree scored 15. Maryland’s Darrius Heyward-Bey posted a 14. Florida’s Percy Harvin a 12. And North Carolina’s Hakeem Nicks an 11.

At offensive tackle, Alabama’s Andre Smith scored 17.

Linebacker Rey Maualuga posted a 12, while his USC teammates fared better. Clay Matthews scored 27, and Brian Cushing 23.

At defensive back, Maryland’s Kevin Barnes posted a 41, while Western Michigan’s Louis Delmas scored 12.

The local espn station down here had some example questions from the test and they were sooo pathetic. Basic 8th grade math (for some on here that may enter into the 12th grade realm) but seriously try to see if you can find some of the questions because I promise you will laugh your nuts off.

Vince Young scored a 6, and you automatically get a 4 for correctly writing your full name.

Look at what he has done, or hasn't done, and you'll understand why he got a 6.

Here's a sample of some of the questions: http://espn.go.com/page2/s/closer/020228test.html

I stopped at Question 4 and was flat out appalled that the average is not a 35-40+ in this test. I know not everyone is very smart and that is plenty fine by me but.......heralding anything lower than a 40 is like congratulating an offensive lineman for getting 13 reps at 225...

I did the 15 sample ? and I got 11 right so if there is 50 on the test i guess that means me average should be about 36 or 37. Man thats almost like some of the ? on the test.

I got 12/15 in the 5 minute limit just sitting here. I simply skipped #11 & #13 because I'd have had to use some scrap paper to keep the numbers straight. I've got a degree in math, so I'm sure I could do the 8th grade level math word problems if I'd been better prepared. I got #14 wrong, I assumed it was true because I thought we were working with a complete set of information.

Bottom line, I bet I could book up tonight and take the wonderlic tomorrow I'd get a 50/50. It's all junior high level stuff. Now running the 40 yard dash, they'd have to time me with a calendar.

It is pretty ridiculous how easy the questions are. It's not rocket science or anything. Are athletes that stupid?

I hate to say it.... but I told ya so. The Q's are a horrible judge of IQ, but I guess that's just how much these guys don't have to study in college lol. I can see where some might get mixed up.... but seriously?

The wonderlic is not an IQ test in the general sense. The time limit and the # of questions are intended to put pressure on players to see how they perform.

The Math section is the hardest because although it is simple calculations, some of the problems take at least 10 seconds to read and understand, add another 10 seconds for the algebraic solution and another 10 seconds for the calculations and you are looking at 30 seconds for one problem.

The easiest section to me is the logical part where they ask you which number represents the greater amount and to complete number series.

The language part is just a matter of knowing the words or not, and let's face it, most of these guys can't even speak right. I'm guessing they don't do much reading either.

I believe it is a great way of measuring how effective these guys are under pressure. Vince Young's score was a sign for things to come. The guy is just plain dumb, he doesn't know how to read a defense and chances are he won't learn. He can't outrun people the way he did in college anymore so now he is ****ed.

Now seriously speaking, I doubt all the people that claim to be able to smoke the test are really capable of doing that. I have taken it and my scores have been in the high 30's range. But let's find out, 12 minutes, no calculators. No penalty for wrong answers.

                                  Ready:

                                  1. A physical education class has three times as many girls as boys. During a class basketball game, the girls average 18 points each and the class as a whole averages 17 points per person. How many points does each boy score on average? [/color]
                                  2. Randolph has 8 ties, 6 pairs of pants, and 4 dress shirts. How many days could he possibly go without wearing the same combination of these three items?
                                  3. John is a mechanic. He makes $8.50 an hour, plus $3 extra for every oil change he performs. Last week he worked 36 hours and performed 17 oil changes. How much money did he make?
                                  4. A box of staples has a length of 6 cm, a width of 7 cm, and a volume of 378 cm cubed. What is the height of the box?
                                  5. What is the average of all of the integers from 13 to 37?
                                  6. A basketball player averaged 20 points a game over the course of six games. His scores in five of those games were 23, 18, 16, 24, and 27. How many points did he score in the sixth game?
                                  7. Arnold is about to go on a 500-mile car trip. His mechanic recommends that he buy a special highway engine oil that will save him 50 cents in gas for every 25 miles of the trip. This new oil, however, will cost $20. Is it worthwhile for Arnold to buy the oil if he has a coupon for $4 dollars off the price?
8 If three inches of rope cost 7 cents, how much would 2 feet of rope cost?
                                  9. What is the next number in the sequence: 5, 10, 20, 40,...?
