Nope.. I've had addictions, I've had issues... I recognized them, worked on them and concurred them for the most part.. I made a choice to be a better person and not spiral down that same dark path to the jail house or grave.. Broke generation strong holds.. It's a conscious choice more times then not.. It wasn't a disease for me either, it was a weakness and or a lack of personal discipline...

Gambling can be an addiction but if you control it and don't get too emotional about it then it's not a disease or an addiction but a fun hobby. It's just like drinking alcohol or smoking weed.. It's all in your control... Same goes with anger management I think..

An addiction isn't what I call a mental illness. An addiction is brought on by yourself. Mental patients that can't help that are born into illness that don't seek help is a different story. You know if you have an issue and there are thousands of outlets for help.

I'd respond by saying - Robin Williams was probably mentally ill in the end, and probably unwilling to make the necessary efforts or changes needed to correct it.. He was probably undisciplined too since he was addicted to booz and drugs thru out most of his life..
