    Is this a guaranteed angle?
Betting AGAINST the Yankees ML all season. I did some numbers on this (thank you Covers.com)

I found these yearly ML totals for the yankees

    2008: -472
    2007: -1062
    2006: -204
    2005: -1658
    2004: 160
    2003: 88

In the last 6 years the Yankees have only had 2 profitable seasons, which were minimal at best...

In the last 4 years the Yankees have NOT had a profitable season.

I would think that with all the new off-season additions the Yankees ML's will be heavily inflated.

Anyone think this is a strong angle?

I think you can pick your spots with the yanks.... every year it seems they have a few extended losing streaks, and every year they have a few even longer winning streaks....

but yeah, I like to fade them in spots, as i hate them...and obviously they are the biggest definition of a public team ever..... This year their pitching staff might be worth betting ON first five Every game though

Not this year is correct. There over under is 96 wins. Don't be suprised if they don't lose more than 4 games in a row all season. Probably be -250 or higher every game at home.

The difference is that this year they have a fairly solid rotation. I would never advise betting on or against a team in this manner. Nicky would though. Ask him how well that system has worked out for him...

In the same light, I would assume that there will be opportunities throughout much of the season where this team will be overpriced...

Obviously I would never bet against Sabathia, but most other home ML's should be in the -200 to -300 range, and in baseball thats almost always value.

Actually, Sabathia on the mound will most likely offer the best opportunity for overpricing.

I think you might see alot of silly numbers this year for the Yanks. Maybe -300 or 400's.

Could you tell me how you got those numbers?

I made a post in ThinkTank of this exact question and no one answered.
