    Live Betting
    Hi,

For those who are heavily engaged in live betting, how well has this strategy worked for you?

I've tried it a little, and I'm doing ok with it so far, but have not mastered it yet. I usually bet college basketball, since this seems to be the most available in live betting, and I usually bet on the Under/Over. Sometimes, I'll try to build a window, and hope the scores fall within the window (middling).

For example, today, I played the Cornell/Missouri game, and when the total line showed 138.5, I bet under. Later, when the total line showed 134.5, I bet over. As it turned out, the final score total was 137, and so I won both bets.

What are your strategies in live betting?

USC CFB up 2 scores about 4 mins to go with ball vs Texas in the NCAA champ game and then Vince Young showed me.

oooh, that hurts, I remember that game very well. Yeah, stuff like this happens sometimes. Live betting is tense, and just when you think you've made a good last bet, and have the game in the bag... surprise!!!

General that is brutal. Reminds me of the Memphis/Kansas basketball championship game last year. I had an enourmous wager on Memphis ML. I think they were up 8 or 9 with 2 or 3 minutes left. The Chalmers 3 at the end was one of the worst feelings of my life. I knew right then that there wasn't a prayer for memphis in overtime.

Netinfo as for your question, the best thing to do in live betting is to learn where markets should be and know when the market is wrong and take advantage. Whether you are taking favorites or underdogs, you always of course look for the advantage. Its no different than capping games and finding weak lines. In every game there are at least a couple moments of weak odds available.

The difference between live games and capping games pre-game is that in the live games when the odds are off, they are often WAAAAAAY off. You rarely find a line pre game that is very far off. In this sense, live betting is less of a grind and much more profitable per game.

The problem is that there aren't as many games live as there are games available to bet pre-game.

After the loss, I just looked over at my Cook and went to bed. She was aware of the bet. She was as heart -broken as me and it lasted for awhile, losing more money than I should have been betting, but damn it looked sweet and I barely got it in. Thought I was a sure winner.

It's worked great for me. Almost to the point where it's like free money. Has to be a televised game that I'm watching though....

I also use it to dump off a losing bet once and a while, just trade both sides and hedge out.

Entertainment wise it's awesome. I like betting on stuff thats in progress.....I'm using primarily Matchbook and I wish they had live events on more games.

Which book offers a good menu of live bets.......................?

Bet you went right to sleep and slept like a baby

I know the feeling all too well. Some big losses have taken me a week to get over.

                        WhileOut,

Thanks for the great explanation. I especially agree with this statement: "The difference between live games and capping games pre-game is that in the live games when the odds are off, they are often WAAAAAAY off"

                          JBC77,

I'd love to know the answer to this one too. I use Betus, and they had a number of live college bb games today, but I wish they'd offer more in number, and in a variety of sports.

Yeah, I do this sometimes too. Sometimes, I can't take the up and down intensity of the game, and I keep second guessing myself, thinking it's gonna go over, and then oh no it's gonna go under, and then over, and then under... to the point where I'm like: I have no confidence that my bet is gonna win, so let me just bet the other side, take the loss on the juice, and hedge out

Ya, sleeping isn't good for me after a big beat. I want to hope it was a big dream. Get to sleep and when waking up, it is like a Huge slap in the face to start the day and as you say several days thereafter sometimes.
