I do not know him but best of luck in the business.
If I can ever be of any assistance, please feel free to ask in my horse forum Q and A thread.
Nothing like winning a race is there?

Yeah it is fun @ fort erie though any kind of bet I make $200-300 kills my action always I move odds so much. They get soo little action its disgusting.
You got any ponies at woodbine?

You have to bet smaller if you bet there or better yet, bet offshore .
Small pools are tough to deal with.
Do not own any as of now. I trained for quite a while on the U.S. east coast. I left the game in 2001.

My deal with the trainer is giving him 40% of the winnings and not paying any day fees, right now its more worth it then taking the $85 a day fee but im not too sure which will be better in the long run. Right now its working out cause im.not winning many starts what u think about this set up

If they both just won and if they did not win N/w type races, and won open claiming races, at least you know the true value. Run them where they can win and you should be fine but you will lose them and have to claim new ones to replace.
With your setup at least you know that he will not screw around and protect them too much, because it is costing him money to do so. Probably not a bad deal but the name of the game is win , as you know.
Do you have to pay the vet bills, blacksmith, shipping, etc.?

Vet bills and blacksmith included shipping u mean when I gotta bring them back n forth between the two tracks?
I pay for that but im not bringing tthem back and forth, I just ship them over to fort if they are running very poorly.

Biggie I bet you play games with your horse
All owners do
Legal way to fix is tell jokcey not to push him and you have an edge betting other horses especially when your horse is a favprite
Biggie places like Fort Eri rigged..why?? Jockeys are poor , purses smallerthey have to bet to make extra money
smaller purses means more fixing or legal fixing like you do

I would wander around the horse forum and read some posts from guys that play all the time. There are plenty of A+ type places offshore that offer nice rebates win or lose but the guys within the forum would know first hand. I would assume Betfair and 5Dimes as well as others. I think Pinny quit the horses but not positive. Don't fool with the shortstop places.
I do not follow the betting phase of it other than to look at the triple crown, breeders cup and whatever anyone asks about. Plenty of guys in the horse forum that know and understand the game quite well. A rel solid group for the most part.
I just offer advice and answer questions for anyone that needs clarity within the game or is thinking about getting into the business. Been doing it for about 3 years now. Check it out if you have time.
Hope I can be of some help down the road.

All owners do? No they don't knucklehead.
Real small purses can leave some people few options but there is too much money to be made legally if you have a clue as to what you are doing. No need to stiff your horse JJ, plenty of opportunities arise being honest and without deceiving the public.
Watched my share of dummies try and be wise guys over the years and in most cases they screwed it up. Much easier to try and simply do right by your horse, out work and out smart the opposition, and smile when you get your picture taken.

Hello biggie,
First off congratulations on your wins. There is a big difference between jealousy and envy. I envy your early success,as Str said it must be a great thrill to win as an owner.A jealous person wishes for you to fail and tries to marr your success. Paraphrase a quote from Theodore Roosevelt; Its not the critic who counts, the credit belongs to the man who strives to do the deeds. The man who is in the arena, his face marred by sweat and blood, and if he fails at least fails while daring greatly. Good luck to you sir and please keep us abreast of your triumphs and failures.

Really good stuff in here fellas. I love the horses and Woodbine is my favorite track to wager on. Living in Louisville i frequent Churchill but the fields at the Bine are super. Love the .20 cent pick 4.
