matty, it was'nt that team.

it was the 76-77 team, not the 78-79 team.. it was the team that went a record 60-8-12. they lost only 8 games all year and won 60 games, when there was no OT or Shootouts back then..

meaning, if they had same rules back then like today, they probably would've gone 70-8-2.. best team in NHL history

this habs team is the best habs team since this habs team of 32 yrs ago..

My point is that the 78/79 team was clearly superior to the current one. 78/79 sits between 77 and today. Thus, the 78/79 is offended at the suggestion that the 08/09 team is the best Habs team since 1977.

i could give you 20 examples of the major differences in the 2 squads.
how could your statement carry any weight when there best player(2009) is the coach, who was on all those teams of the 70`s on there 3rd and 4th lines.

Habs open at Pinny -209 against the Leafs Saturday night, habs losers of four straight with no heart and shitty goaltending may still win Saturday but that line is just crazy.

I believe Leafs and habs have split the season series so far.

-230 montreal at CRIS, thats just fukkin stupid.

As a Bruins fan I dont want the Habs in the 1st round. The Bruins lost as #1 seed in 2002 and a # 2 seed in 2004 to the Habs. Something about the Habs playing the Bruins in the first round makes me nervous.

plommer, there's a reason why line is habs -230 everywhere now. it's because even the oddsmakers know how good the habs are and they know they are better than their record.. oddsmakers respect the habs.. they know ALMOST as much as i know about hockey...

tuller, mtl has owned bos in playoffs for 35 or so yrs now.. and if they play them again, they will beat them. Tuller, we've got your #.
