Why can't we all unite and set up a legal betting exchange in the U.S.?

I'm sure illegal versions of this exist… hell my friend has one set up for poker he's trying to make grow right now so when people play its 1000X easier to get paid out then those annoying online sites.

Yes too lazy to go to Vegas and bet -110 lines instead of finding ways to bet with less juice. That makes sense.

You appear to be one of the best examples of what you are claiming.

(Although in general I disagree with you)

No, I'm actually a trader that also wins at sports and would like to win more. Winners in Vegas play offshore and with bookies primarily because -110 can be had anywhere. What does Vegas do to really help a bettor? Not a lot.

Exchange did not fail miserably at betmaker. Bets were still matched during afternoon horse racing at sometimes pretty decent amounts 5 to 10K a race (especially aqueduct) . Also other tracks had some decent volume at times. Bookmaker said they would bring it back if their was enough interest. At least the horseracing part. Got unreal numbers on long shot horses. Also the ingame sunday night football games had volume in the fall of 2011 at approx. 90K a night . It did drop in the following fall of 2012 however somewhat but volume was still around 50K or so most sundays (this was only for sunday night games). It just boggles my mind that no exchange is available for US citizens. It is terribly sickening ! Exchanges bring a whole new dimension to sports betting and 100% more fun .

yes i understand what you were suggesting

if they wanted to shut it down, it would 100% get shut down, and if it became anything big enough to generate enough liquidity to make it useful and legit, they would 99.5% want to shut it down

Let's just put it this way. This should tell people why exchanges are so much better . At matchbook and betmaker i am up huge and at all sportsbooks i am down in the last 15 years. Down because of a variety of factors but mostly because the lines suck and because of flat out theft !!

Long term you have a massive advantage playing in betfair, matchbook, or pinnacle

                        That low juice is huge
