All my friends now are telling me to join a team and to write some college coaches I have no idea what to do. I havent played baseball since freshman year in HS and i was at 3rd base

then it came my turn and i hit 75 right away. everyone was impressed. then i hit 79. i started to be like "wow could i hit 80" so i stretched out a little bit and did some windmills. then i hit 89 and knocked the guys socks off he couldnt believe it. made a huge thud when it hit the tarp

The truth (or lack of it) is in the details. Nobody throws 75 and then a few throws later throws 89. What was the first pitch, a circle change? You walked up to a carnival game with a speed gun and threw some junk on the first pitch, is that what you're saying?

no i was stiff. i missed my location too. there is an outline of a catcher and my first pitch was about 3 feet away from him. 89 mph pitch hit him right in the glove

Obviously this is bull. I threw around 88 in high school and when I threw at those damn carnival things it was like 82-83.

You get three throws and you aren't warmed up. You're also not throwing off a mound and you're throwing on concrete without cleats so you can't generate power with your legs.

It was also be dumb to throw as hard as you could without warming up. You would hurt your shoulder.

i used to throw low 80's in HS, hit 81-82 on the gun several times, but i tried a carnival throw about 15 yrs after graduating HS and my arm throbbed for days. i think i hit 70 on the throw,

You did not throw 89 mph.

No way, no how, it didn't happen.

It may have registered 89 mph.

But the truth is, those carnival radar guns are not exactly accurate. If the aim, or your position varies, the range of accuracy on the gun can be as much as 10-20 mph.

The degree of angle needs to be consistent, and I really doubt much thought is given into how those things are set up.

Even if you can throw 89, you probably will never make the MLB. You would could be one hell of a softball player though. Are you in the Cincy area? I may pick you up lol.

And they do have Major league softball. You can make a living at it, but obviously nothing like MLB. I'd try that route.
