Cashing a check at a vegas casino
Has anybody had problems cashing a check from an offshore gambling site at a casino in vegas.

I get my checks from the greek which are drawn from canada. When I am in Florida I take it to my bank Wachovia and they hold the funds 7 days. So I take it to a check cashing store and I get charged 6.5 pct. Wal mart will cash it for 3 dollars if under 1 K.

I will be receiving a check and don't want to pay a pct so I was thinking Vegas must cash a ton of out of country checks.

I haven't done it personally since I only post up offshore for MLB since moving here, but I doubt you'd have too much of an issue.

      Thanks Monkey,

Just curious why do not you play in vegas casinos during baseball season. Is it because they limit your action? Or is it just to much of a pain to go there everyday.

I know The Greek takes up to 5k bets on mlb moneylines with no problem. Is it that easy to drop 5k per mlb bet in vegas. I hear its hard to place large bets in vegas.

I can't get that much better lines offshore for other sports that I play ATS and the seasons are much shorter in terms of the number of bets. Between payment hassles, the inability to cash on bad lines (which I can do at Vegas books), and limiting at books with off numbers, it's more in my interest to simply play at the books at my disposal here. MLB is another animal altogether, however. Many books have 20 cent lines. Although, some do offer dime lines. With the amount of bets I place throughout an MLB season, the juice I can save online makes all of those risks and hassles worthwhile to me.

And to answer your other question, it's not difficult to get $5k down an MLB game as that is the counter limit at many books. Depending on who you are, you may be able to get more down. If you're giving them a lot of action in the pit and/or a guest at the casino, it's much easier to get more than the counter limit down. Essentially, anyone they deem a square can get a good deal of money down on any game. The people who are consistently beating the number are only going to be able to bet counter max, however.

Either to many people lie their ass off in these forums or that counter max number is way off. I read a thread a few months ago where people where stating that they had issues betting 500 on mlb games. They stated that they would start the bet. The cpu would then tell the operator to get approval and then the manger would limit their action to 350. I believe they were trying to bet big favs lik ny or bos.

That sounds like Leroy's authorization. That may happen from time to time on a side they are overloaded on but I've never heard a figure that low from them.

Well since poster "Vince Carter" called me a square because I bet Min over NW in cbb I should have no problem laying 1500 or for a few mlb games next month.

I highly doubt you'd have a problem. If one casino won't take the action for one reason or another, there are plenty of others to go to...

Vegas cashes everything.. They will even cash a post dated check after looking at your credit score..!

why do you think people go broke there.. HAHA

Offshore (or canada in this case) is no big deal to them.. at most, show ID, check credit score.. easy if you are staying there.. or if not enough, give a personal check to cover should the check bounce.. no biggie.. Vegas WILL cash it.
