plommer, you mentioned you have been there nine times, other than being safe what is the attraction?

      canada is safe.

that video is great and a real eye opener, that whole society held back because of the beard for generations

You are right, Canada is safe, but getting 78 degree weather in March is tough here.

The island really is beautiful lots of pristine sandy white beaches, and I find the culture and differences very interesting, Canadians are also very much appreciated on the island, I saw many Canadian flags being flown on bicycle taxis and cars when travelling.

It is also VERY inexpensive, my flight was $348 Canadian dollars total for a round trip ticket, because of the cost I am able to afford multiple trips during the winter.

My money goes far and I am very comfortable on the island.

The attraction to Cuba is difficult to explain to someone that hasn't been there.

Americans can go there, just not directly from America. The Cubans do not stamp your (or my) passport, they use a tourist card and there will be no record of your Cuban visit in your US passport.

I've met a few Americans that flew from Toronto to Cuba, there are multiple flights daily to the island from here.

You can also fly from Mexico if you are near the Mexican border.

            Oh, and I almost forgot:

Technically speaking the US does find out if Americans are flying into Cuba, flight records are passed to Homeland Security by the air carrier and even if the passport is never stamped they will know about it. If they get hassle on their return depends on other matters, for most regular joes they would be safe.
