Actually Nicky, we don't get to see you in chat so you don't know, but Don Juan's been in there a few times and you would not believe it's the same guy. I agree, when he posts, it's dry, merciless and condescending. But when you talk to him in chat he's really got a bubbly personality and a warm heart.

I think the issue is that he's not here to be social, and so he doesn't indulge any of the social graces in his posting. He's like a posting mercenary, he storms the forum, takes what he needs in the way of information, and doesn't care who gets hurt in the process. And in some ways, you almost have to respect it. He's got such self-confidence at such a young age that he can brush off whatever negative comments are made about him and still return when he needs to learn something new.

It'd be nice if he let his personality come through in his posts, but I can't fault the guy for reserving his social skills for his real-life friends. Lord knows, as much as I love a goodly number of posters here, if I could find more like-minded people here in the village to spend time with, I might not invest as much social energy into the forum.

Just thought people should know that DonJuan is a good guy, a decent guy, and I really enjoyed getting to know him in chat over his college break. And it doesn't hurt that he's also from Northern California and has actually visited my little town.
