Gambling bill still alive- Call your Senators and Representatives
Call your Senators, call your Rerpresentatives and call the following Committee Chairs and ranking democrats:

    Senator Susan Collins of Maine
    Rep. Peter King of NY

    Senator Joe Lieberman of CT
    Rep. Jane Harmon of CA

    (202) 224-3121

Tell them not to add non-germane legislation to the Port Security bill, in particular the anti-internet gambling legislation.

The ports bill was still being drafted early Friday, but aides said it may include a court security bill championed by House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., and legislation to limit Internet gambling.

          Called and left another message.

          We are their employer...
We pay for those corrupt SOB's, who turn around and sell our votes to the highest bidder as soon as they're in office.

Time to fire the whole bunch and start from scratch.

Republican Leaders Reach Port Security Conference Deal ...
Â A major maritime security bill will head to the House floor
tonight with a last-minute provision that would crack down on
the $12 billion online gambling industry but without other
controversial additions, such as court security measures and
protections for phone companies that cooperate with government
wiretapping, House Homeland Security Chairman King told
CongressDaily today. King said the text of the conference report
is done and will be brought to the House floor tonight for a
vote. House and Senate Republican leaders were trying earlier
today to attach last-minute measures to the bill. The only one
that survived was from Senate Majority Leader Frist that would
crack down on Internet gambling, King said.

                Alright, fellas.
If you have a live chicken and want to sacrifice it (ala Cerano in Major League - not that KFC stuff) - now IS the time to call it in.
I have been watching CSPN for hours now since being alterted. I've also seen many form letters from Senators.
A LOT of pretty staunch right-wingers 'secretly' say (or it can be implied) that the internet gambling ban has little to no teeth.

For us? that's a GREAT thing.
The problem is, that vote iscoming up in the next 90s minutes, most likely.

I got a lot of beer and am ready to see what happens. If they bet internet gambling, I'm going tohave to find a job flippin' burgers. This is the life I want and I'm seeing that Vegas is worthless to me until my bankroll is a few times larger.

So lets recap: So far - it's sounding REAL bad, but there are prospects. I'm drinking beer likeI won't be able to tommorrow and it doesn't ease my pain...It only pisses me off more.

There still is a chance that this bill will blow, and we'll be alright.
I'llupdate when I see something worthwhile. Right now... Living in Vegas MIGHTjust help me survied (although, the vig out here is ridiculous).
