If most people on here who have gambled for a couple of years were being honest, I think you'd find 99% of us have borrowed cash in one way or another to place a bet and/or cover our gambling f ups. Whether it's taking a cash advance on a card at 24% interest, putting stuff on a card that we normally never would, betting on credit with a local or book, asking a friend to spot you cash or going for a loan. It's all the same thing - gambling with $ that isn't yours. Let's not pretend Mitchy is in a spot that most of us haven't been in before to some degree or another.

have never taken out a loan with intentions to gamble with it.

never have, never will.

scummy thing to do actually. cause whether the lender gets paid or not depends on if he wins or not.

and his less than stellar credit score should tell u he has stiffed a lot of lenders in the past.

I'm being realistic based on what I see on the forum and away from it... even the little corners you guys don't see and what I know of those who are trying to be honest on here. The majority of us will lose gambling no matter how many models, systems, aliens they have working for them. Yeah there are some dummies here but most guys still can grasp that concept. It's about winning when you really need it that keeps a lot of us going. You know overall you'll prob lose or breakeven if you're lucky but you just need to win in March for example. I never told Mitchy it's a good idea for him to borrow... but I'm also not going to bs and jump on a high horse pretending I haven't bet on one form of borrowed cash or another. He asked for help and I gave the only advice I have. Acting sanctimonious doesn't help squat.

Getting a loan from the credit union or money store or bank is of course than a loanshark but there's a lot of paperwork in a long time for approval

If you find a good loanshark and get a decent rate it's probably worth it plus you get the cash right away counts right in front of you

The interest rates are high usually 5 to 8% per week

There are pros and cons to both

One day I was looking at these quick personal loans... they are around 23% interest. You might as well use your CC.

I don't know of anything a person needs at 23% interest unless you're dying and need a surgery. These places cap you at $1,000 limit anyways. Don't know of too many surgeries for under 1k? Maybe the blood work costs that much.

When you go under.... and need a loan... banks have you by the balls. It's a no win situation.

Ah so maybe one of her family members got her in. I actually called them after I got the email as I was worried it was a scam or an ex bf trying to get dirt on her because really who would care about a 10 year old reference living in Aus? But it was definitely legit obviously. The whole thing just seemed so bizarre as she's the first to admit that her finances are and always have been hooped. She got the loan though... talking to me was just a formality. I like that there are still places like that out there. She might f them over but maybe she'll finally do the right thing this time. If so they'll have a customer for life I'm sure and make a fortune off her.

I used to work for them, yes they are extremely meticulous about protecting the customer.
