#17Mitchell, since you are on a gambling forum, the first thought is that you need gambling money to either start up or pay off gambling debts. If the answer is the former, run the opposite way and never come back, this is a dead end no outlet street. If it is the latter run, hide, and quit.Comment -

#18I hear you and of course its a gambling site so that is first thing that comes to mind. Of course I would use some of it for gambling but in this case that would be a small portion. I am not in debt with money I need the loan for an array of things.Originally posted by seaborneqMitchell, since you are on a gambling forum, the first thought is that you need gambling to either start up or pay gambling debts. #19Go to a credit union. They will have more lenient credit scoring policies and better rates than the traditional national banks. You could also go the Prosper/ p2p lending route although the rate will be pretty high.Comment -

#22Search military banks. I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of is called USAA or USAAA. Something close to that. Right before Xmas I got emailed to give a reference for someone I'd rented my house out to 10+ years ago in FL. The bank just wanted someone to vouch for them and although they had crappy credit, had never been in the military and their reference was on the other side of the world they had been approved for a loan for $3.5k. So whatever lending standards they're using are slack as.Comment -

#24I actually looked into this Shari because I grew up near a Military base and they had a Military credit union, they told me that I had to have a referral from someone in the services to get an account. They by far have the best rates I have seen. thxOriginally posted by shari91Search military banks. I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of is called USAA or USAAA. Something close to that. #25USAA is awesome. You need to be active military or a veteran or have someone in your immediate family who is. They can give you a referral so you can join. I highly recommend if you are eligible to join.Originally posted by shari91Search military banks. I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of is called USAA or USAAA. Something close to that. #28Ah so maybe one of her family members got her in. I actually called them after I got the email as I was worried it was a scam or an ex bf trying to get dirt on her because really who would care about a 10 year old reference living in Aus? But it was definitely legit obviously. The whole thing just seemed so bizarre as she's the first to admit that her finances are and always have been hooped. She got the loan though... talking to me was just a formality. I like that there are still places like that out there. She might f them over but maybe she'll finally do the right thing this time. If so they'll have a customer for life I'm sure and make a fortune off her.Originally posted by gauchojakeUSAA is awesome. #29It all depends on which state you live in. Some states like New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania ban payday loans and most installment loans as well.
Here's a good list of direct payday lenders and direct installment lenders with state info as well: http://www.direct-payday.com/lender-list/Comment -

#31If most people on here who have gambled for a couple of years were being honest, I think you'd find 99% of us have borrowed cash in one way or another to place a bet and/or cover our gambling f ups. Whether it's taking a cash advance on a card at 24% interest, putting stuff on a card that we normally never would, betting on credit with a local or book, asking a friend to spot you cash or going for a loan. It's all the same thing - gambling with $ that isn't yours. Let's not pretend Mitchy is in a spot that most of us haven't been in before to some degree or another.Originally posted by crustymeneeding to borrow money so he can continue to gamble and pay the bills.

never have, never will.
scummy thing to do actually. cause whether the lender gets paid or not depends on if he wins or not.
and his less than stellar credit score should tell u he has stiffed a lot of lenders in the past.Comment
