This is a good move for the Montreal, that team lacks direction and focus. Koivu should lose the C too.

Agreed. He should've lost it several years ago.

tuller, this team was playing with no heart. i am so happy. now it's time to win the cup. gainey is a winner. hard to beleive carbo was fired because the team was still doing great and on pace for close to 100 pts, but in montreal, if you are not winning everyday, your job is in jeopardy.. tough place to coach here.

i called it tuller. none of my buddies here ever beleived me that they'd fire GUY.. he's a god here. but i was right..

Nicky, if I was a fan of Montreal i wouldn't care about 100 points. The objective is to win the Cup. You make whatever moves its takes to better you team to win the cup. Montreal isn't Florida where if you just make the playoffs you had a successful year. Still dont see Montreal beating NJ or Boston in the playoffs. Gainey's been a winner everwhere though.

just to let you boys know.

Guy Carbonneau last year should have won Coach of the year with 103 pts.

Pat Burns was fired for losing in the Stanley Cup Finals

Jean Perron was fired the following year after winning the CUP.

i can name so many more from the past, but in Montreal, IF you don't win the CUP, your job is in jeopardy.. your job is never safe here. toughest city to coach in pro sports.. hands down.

If Pat Burns was healthy he would do wonders for the current Montreal team. He was one hell of coach.

NOT, there must be 100 better candidates, this is your heart talking, not your brain.

I was kidding. I would like to see Roy coach in the NHL strictly for entertainment purposes, but I would never consider him a viable candidate to lead the Habs to the Cup. Guy's a total loon.

i should start to pay attention to what the signs the yellow guys are waving say.
