not only their best, the best lefty in the al last yr if i recall correctly, and perhaps he will be for a long time. im no sox fan, i hate the sox, but he is awesome. conversely, i dont think dicek is awesome at all. i dont like pitchers who walk 6 guys every start.

Good deal for Boston and Lester. Boston gets a good player securely under contract and Lester is only losing one year of free agent time.

There is also an option, I think a team one, so Lester my be giving up 2 years of FA.

Considering this thread is from 09 and Lester is now an ace in one of the toughest divisions to pitch in, I'd say this is one of the sox best signings in recent times
