I think because he doesn't want to pull a Koscheck. Rather play it safe than sorry. That and his striking is good but not great and he doesn't have enough tricks in his bag to really land something big and clean. Unless Miller opens up looking for the KO

He's a great wrestler but his BJJ is still green and Miller is an excellent submission fighter (BJJ Brown Belt ). There was probably a 25% chance he'd get caught in something but I assume he didn't want to take that risk.
