I wonder if there is a Canadian equivalent to the Fifth Amendment?

Amazing to think that Martha Stewart and Marion Jones never would have been convicted had they just pleaded the 5th.

I wonder how this applies when they pull you over in the middle of nowhere shithole Utah. I've been pulled over several times for no reason at all. They make up some BS to run your DL and ask you a bunch of questions. Where you going? What do you do? How long have you been in Vegas? Where did you stay?

It feels like they're looking for anything suspicious. So I just answer the questions. Some of my answers may have been less than 100% accurate. But I feel I have to answer to avoid being taken to a shithole Utah jail for further evaluation.
Btw, the reason they gave for pulling me over on three separate occasions are total fabrications.

                1. you made a rolling stop at stop sign. ---totaly false
                2. smells like weed in your car, I want to look through it. --- totaly false
                3. looked like you were sverving coming of that turn. -----false
                4. Why were you going 55 in a 75 zone? seemed suspicious? -------because you the cop was sverving in and out of traffic in front of me.

I didn't get as much as a ticket on any of the ocassions, but it makes you nervous. Kind of a fine line on what you should say and when.
