Usually it's because of violence in the stands, or fans throwing stuff on the field.

BTW, I think have figured out that what the soccer world calls "abandoned", North America calls "postponed", and what they call "postponed", we call "delayed".

i think this is at atlon magic. i didn't knew there are so much anger between magic fans and lions fans. maybe they got bored with the no scoring after 55 min minutes

ABD = abondoned
POST = postoned
delayed

are all different. postponed matched is usually due to weather. they might be rescheduled for the following day.

delayed matches are just like delayed games.

I thought it was when the fans somehow get across the moat surrounding the field and the players madly escape, mostly by helicopter, before being crushed to death.

abandoned means the game was not finished and had to be called off in the 55th minute. It can be weather related if the pitch was deemed unplayable (heavy rain, snow, frozen pitch, lightning, heavy fog, extreme heat, power went out in stadium on night game, player got seriously injured or died on pitch from heart attack) or there was bad behavior by the players or fans (players fighting, attacking referee, fans throwing staff on pitch, fans invading the pitch, fans fighting against each other).

As far as grading is concerned an abandoned game is treated as a canceled bet.

When the match is abandoned by one team, the game is scored as 3 to nothing (the team that forfeits the game loses the match)... Weather or lightning problems may make the game to be postponed... not abandoned... riots and the like may make the home team abandon the game as per Fifa's discretion... Wagering-wise... the grading will be done according to the rules of the book
