"RS was abused, so it's understandable if he abuses others" (paraphrased). I think the word I'm looking for is "enabler". IMO, enablers are often worse than the perps themselves.

The thing about the racist/homophobe crowd is they really do hate. They see stuff on a forum and have a real visceral reaction. All irate. All fearful.

I don't hate those guys. I just look at them and figger, 'The whole world keeps evolving and it's leaving them behind. It would be kind of confusing. Poor bastards.'

Some of the guys I have on IGNORE fall into that category but even the others, I definitely don't hate. It would be like hating a Raisin Bran box. I don't find it interesting but hate is so out-of-proportion.

Actually, Mudcat's words have helped me see the light.

I was in a dark place on Saturday when I created this thread. Nothing good can come of it, besides a few laughs at the expense of those who are worthy of ridicule.

But other than that, where does hate leave you? Right back where you started. Here at SBR, it should be about progress.
