Going to a home poker game tonight
My boss invited me to a home poker game tonight. I've played with him and the people i'll be playing with tonight. They are all calling stations who don't fold anything basically they will call you down with bottom pair even if they think you are strong.

Whats my optimal strategy? I believe it's going to be $10 tournaments about 10-12 people.

          AA - 88, 3x big blind raise.

tight and aggressive until down to 4 or 5, then let the guns out..

I think the most surprising part about this little story is that he actually has a job...

tight aggressive, you need to know how to play every kind of game.

                        tight aggressive
                        loose
                        bluffer
                        calling station
guy who doesn't know how to play
                        regular style

If you want to become really good, you have to be able to play all these styles at any given time. You also need to know how every other player plays at the table.

If you don't locate the fish in the first 15 minutes, you are the fish.

When you first sit down, you should have an idea of who the fish are who the players are, if not, you have 15 minutes.

Patty....tonight, you must play a tight aggressive game....play premium hands. They way you described the players, they probably have no concept of tight aggressive. They won't realize that you haven't played a hand in over 45 minutes and that you probably have a high PP. Use that to your advantage. Raise at least 4x the BB when you come in. After the flop, if you hit a pair w/ an ACE KING...or already have a high PP, bet out strong again.

Don't check raise them, they are too dumb for that, unless you have a monster. Don't bluff. Medium pair might be good, but don't bet it too strong. A lot of these calling stations will sit and wait for flushes or gut shot straight draws, if you have the goods, bet a high amount...at least 6x the BB.

If you have medium pair, bet enough to make them pay, but not enough to lose it all. They will call for their draws. Only 2-3x max.

If yoou need more info..let me know

If it's a bunch of loose, calling station donks I would raise the BB 5-6 times.

This way you can clear the decks a little. You don't want to be seeing the flop 6 handed when your holding KK.

I agree with the others about Tight/Aggressive early and blind aggression when it gets down to 3-4 handed

When guys call anything their is zero skill involved

I would back off tourney as everyone has an equal shot to win
