Think carefully about this important step, my son. I consider myself an expert and guru on the IGNORE function and I will favor you with my extreme wisdom:
Don't think of IGNORE in terms of punishing someone. So often I see people using it as a threat, like it might somehow be leverage in making someone change their behavior.
That's silly. If you're thinking that way, you're probably not ready to use IGNORE, my son.
It is about helping yourself. It is about giving yourself a more serene environment. Nothing else.
The IGNORE function is not for the insecure. If you are the type of person to worry about what someone is saying about you, there is no sense even considering IGNORE. It will backfire; you will only make yourself more crazy.

Mudcat has it right. If you have persons on ignore and you are constantly clicking "view post" when the "post ignored" bar comes up you are in fact giving that person more attention than you would be by just skipping over their posts.Comment -
Actually it's no great loss for me, guys. Fivey is sexy, but he obviously didn't find my attention flattering, and now he's feeling like I made him look silly, so this is his way of venting his frustration. I get it, and it's fine by me. Like Durito, I think ignore is for pussies, but everybody has varying levels of tolerance for aggravation. Unlike Durito, I think what I did was in no way ban-worthy because SBR has made it painfully clear that storytelling and casting baseless aspersions against posters is not only fair game, but practically encouraged.
It's true, I get no small amusement from how seriously some people take this site, and since I don't hold it in the same regard, I sometimes push the envelope too far. Again, I apologize to those who feel wronged, but since twice as many people have told me they found it hilarious, I would probably do it over again. I've been called a sexual deviant and a child molester on this site, but you didn't see me get upset and start cursing over it. I laughed and moved on.
You talk to any of the storytellers on this site and they'll confirm that fiction is the easiest literature to write. I spent 6 minutes on that post yesterday afternoon, so I wish people would stop making it sound like I invested un-Godly amounts of time in that ruse. I knew AAO had been on a quest to rid the world of stiffs, I knew the level of detail that had to be employed in order to make it credible, and I played to the fact that people here enjoy pouncing on people.
Plenty of people said awful things about me during EnglishMike's "Fag Inquisition" and again later under HedgeHog's "Child Molester Exposé" but you didn't see me demanding apologies from anyone. It's a forum, things get said because it takes less than 100 calories to sit and type for an hour, making it pretty close to effortless. You have to take that fact into account whenever you read stuff on the internet. This is the least credible form of print media, and what I did yesterday only demonstrated that.
Fiver is obviously getting a little thrill of revenge, taking the time to post a screencap of his Ignore list. I wish him all the happiness in the world that he can extract from something that has no bearing on my life. There will always be new guys to talk to on SBR, so losing one cute guy isn't a loss really. I find it pitiable though, that some people need to shield their eyes from messages on a forum, as though what's read can truly shatter the peace of their day. If you let SBR affect you that much, then you're allowing a very twisted subset of the population to have way too much influence on your personal happiness.
Fiver, Ignore me with your blessing. You've put yourself in such company as FlyingIllini, MonkeyF0cker, and Immortality, three people I personally would be mortified to be compared to. Business will carry on as usual without you, not to worry.
