I trashed my laptop display last night
I dropped it from the bed and broke the 15" display badly. Still attached but cracked several places inside display cover. It is broke and looking at the reviews from amazon, it isn't worth much anyhow. Already had trouble with the CD/DVD player and it runs very hot even with a cooling pad. I think it came out early 2006.

My question: What are decent, relatively inexpensive laptops these days with wireless built-in and somewhat popular? Just curious as to what some of you may have and are happy with. I do not need it badly, but nice to have a second around in case the primary goes down. As well, it's nice to have when away from the trailor.

    Thanks

$400 or so for a netbook just for internet access

$550 or so for name brand ones that are real laptops

I "dropped" my laptop once too. Dropped it right across the room.

The lesson was, never bet on bad NBA road teams in the playoffs.

Bought a pair of low-end HP laptops last year for my small business, a 15-incher and a 17-incher of the same line. Less than a grand for both. Both have been rock solid machines and are still going strong.

I would stick with basic, brand name computers. HP/Compaq or Dell.
