This is an old problem. Gandhi (Mahatma) already tried to do something about this. You can give them toilets, but what good are those without an infrastructure (pipes)? You can be sure that India, as one of the emerging countries, will build that infrastructure, so I would keep an eye on companies that are positioned to do so.

As far as poop. Indians don't eat cows. The cattle industry in the West is probably far more harmful (toxins getting into ground water), than Indians fertilizing their lands.

Not guessing, but not sure where the problems are located. For instance, big problem with pig poop polluting ground water in Holland.

But this international attention to the problem in India is a good thing. They're proud. Should inspire them to do something about it fast.
