If you lost 9.5 thousand on football and then just threw over a thousand on a huge underdog then: 1.) you must really not value money (even to a millionaire, a thousand dollars is a thousand dollars (like it could buy gas for your car for a long time, it could buy a lot of groceries, etc)) and 2.) you were really desperate.

Just because you have money from your job or wherever else doesn't mean you're successful gambling on sports. I would love for you to track all the bets you make for one full year. It's reasonable of me to assume, somebody who bets $10,000 on a 9 point road dog in a football game to win a half outright is somebody who doesn't win long term.
