ok i get what you are saying but in football a lot of that downtime is important, look at manning, hes basically playing the game at the line of scrimmage for 20 seconds.

11 minutes of actual playing time is generous. it's more like 8 minutes. you can't count time time that lops off walking back to the huddle or those ridiculous gyrations manning goes through on every play. i put a stop watch to a game once from the time the ball is snapped to when the tackle was made or pass was incomplete or player went out of bounds. 8 min 41 seconds of actual playing time. no nfl player should ever be tired playing in a football game.

Player injured --> 3 minute break --> Next play Field Goal --> 3 minute break --> kick off for a touchback --> 3 minute break.

Can drive you insane.

i once tried watching 2-3 games at the same time, and there were so many commercials in the games that they overlapped and most of the time i would just sit there and watch 3 different commercials at the same time

i just cant do it, this stuff is unwatchable, and all us sports just like that, unwatchable because of all the stoppage time and commercials

Avg play is what, like 8 seconds multiplied by something in the range of 130-150 snaps if you're lucky.

Thats a whole lot of filler to get through in a 3.5 hr timeslot.
