I would throw in 40+ yard field goals in blizzards, the tuck rule, spygate, etc.

i couldnt agree with you more. the eye test doesn't lie. in the biggest games brady is one of the best ever while there is not person in the world unfamiliar with peytons playoff struggles.jack nicklaus didn't win the most tournaments, but won the most majors. montana never lost a superbowl. michael jordan never allowed an opponent to reach a game 7 in the nba finals, let alone beat him. brady is one of the guys that lives for games like this. history shows manning struggles. (peyton, not eli)

Both teams had a solid season and Pats have been impressive given all the injuries/losses but Patriots only played 4 good teams last year, won 2 of them at home and lost 2 on the road. All the other 12 teams they played were 50% or less win rate if I recall. Just can't see Patriots winning in Denver but to give neutral info I've seen a lot of cappers on various sites picking the Patriots.

Do people think the books decided to release such a high number for no reason? The simple answer is no. The books know what they're doing, they just opened a line at a generous number for the Pats, a team that just so happens to be one of the heaviest public bet teams in sports history.

The books knew what they were doing with this number, open it at 7, have everyone and their grandmothers bet it down, only to have the big money backing the Broncos.

So you think the public nature of the Pats historically outweighs the public love for Manning? Maybe, but not by much.

And it didn't open at 7 anywhere... The books are bouncing around between 4 and 6 without exposing themselves to a key number, so it's hard to see any opinion in the books here. At least no obvious one.

This is way off. Pats run game looked great the other day. Denver secondary beat up. Game plan will be to run and play action. Brady is going to torch this secondary once the pats establish the run. Brady doesn't lose to manning in these games or any to be honest. Peyton only has a few wins against Brady out of 13-14 games played. Ur burning ur money if u bet against belicheck when he's up against manning. This will not end well for Denver backers/fans. Pats win 35-24. Pats beat sf in Super Bowl 24-20.

Want to believe DB being a Pats fan but I'm very very leary that their youth rears its ugly head here. This team as constituted is like the 2nd youngest team in the league.

of course not, they never had an offense other than 2007 worth a flip. brady manages the offense with what he is givin that year, which is different constantly. peyton has had world class skill position players every single year of his career.

7 was not avaialble at most all places online and vegas.

in your example, the books are leaving themselves wide open on a hit if den win by 6 or 7. obviously a strong possibility.
if books felt heavy sharp action was coming on denver, they would have left the line at your opener of 7. it got sent down to 4.5 b/c im sure some reputable $$$'s also came in on NE. Just b/c "60%" of the public is on the pats, doesnt mean that all serious money is only on den.

will all that said, lets hope denver can score 6 here to start the 3rd
