It seems like the search function doesn't allow me to find posts from the early posting days here at SBR. Is it possible?

I can click on your part posts and see to oct 2010 a little under 800 posts worth. I'm sure some could still be searched for beyond thatComment -

You should be able to search for posts that are years old. You can go to the advanced search, enter your user and you will have the option to select either posts or threads. If you scroll down a bit you will see you have the option to find posts for pretty much any time frame. If you want to view extremely old posts, in the "Find posts" row select "A Year Ago" in the box and next to it select "older." Then below in the option "Sort Results by" change the option on the right next to "Last Posting Date," change it from descending order to ascending order.
That should let you view extremely old posts/threads.
