We need pro teams with regional personnel
Here is my thought process. I just heard Paul Pierce say that he hated the Boston Celtics as a kid and loved the Lakers. He is from California. This should be a felony or something but it is common in the pros. These guys don't care who they are playing for, its all about the money and whether they win a championship or not. Team loyalty is dead. Why pull for a team that has players on it that grew up hating that team? WHAT IS THE POINT TO EVEN BE A FAN? There is no point anymore.

To solve this, the NCAA and pros should come up with some rules about what team or teams you are allowed to play for. If you are from California, you should not be allowed to play for an east coast team. If you are from the south you should not be allowed to play for a northern team. You should have to play for a team within a certain geographical area that you are from.

College football and basketball still have some of this, especially in the south, as pride in southern football is rampant amongst players and they tend to stay in state or maybe go to the state next to them. Most southern players stay in the south though. Yes there are exceptions and we do send a lot of talent to other conferences. This should not be allowed though.

Wouldn't you be more of a fan of your local team if it was full of players you grew up around?

I know this won't ever come to fruition but it makes sense to me.

Edit: Title should read pro and college teams
