Haven't been scouting too much yet, only here and there as I'm getting myself ready for betting.

I'm sure you've seen my Fantasy Baseball thread also if you are interested in joining a league.

you know, I think some guys are over rated such as an A-Rod...he'll give you good fantasy numbers for Home Runs and RBI's....but suck at Strike Outs and shit like that.

A solid guy who puts up numbers is Ichiro.....he'll get you 250+ hits, a lot of doubles, triples, Stolen Bases, runs scored, not alot of K's.

Ichiro is a solid choice for a sleeper that most people will just throw aside....Ryan....don't draft him....I want him

I never played in a league where k's count against a batter.

In all my drafts, Joakim Soria from the Royals has been going really late. One of the best up and coming closers in my opinion, and is a great pickup for keeper leagues especially.

                        Raul Ibanez phillies.

Hes new to kost of the pitchers in nl. Has protection in front of him and in back of him so the "hittables" will come his way.

Have u ever seen him hit? Hes GOOOD!

With A-Rod's new injury, I think the consensus #1 pick is Hanley Ramirez. Anyone else think differently? His injury does concern me cause if it bothers him throughout the season, he might opt for surgery.

I would draft him anywhere in the late 1st round. I don't want to take a risk on him and find out later he's going to have surgery.

How do you think Holliday will fare in Oakland now? Their offense was downright awful last year...

There are 1000 ways to play the game, and not sure any one way is better than the others. I've played in just two leagues over the years that included strikeouts for batters, and only one of them was what I'd even remotely call a 'bad league' and that was because several owners just didn't give a rat's rump and didn't follow through the entire season.

I played in a league one year that only tracked two categories: ERA for your pitchers and Runs Scored by your offense, a very simple and solid concept. This was about 2000, can't recall the site where we did it, but it was set up very rigid. Had to have a minimum of 1250 innings and once you made 162 starts by your pitchers or any of your regular defensive positions, then you were done at that position.

One of the best leagues I played in ever was one back in the 80s that you got one roster move to make after the season started (not counting valid MLB DL replacements). Made the draft so damn important. One thing I hate to do these days is play in leagues with unlimited roster moves.

And way, way back in 1968, even though we didn't call it fantasy baseball it was a version of it. You picked one hitter each night, and the one with the most total bases (including walks) the next day won everyone's milk money which is what we were basically betting each day.

One hitter who has been going fairly high and is on everyone's radar because of the preseason publication hype -- lots of those magazines were put together last Nov-Dec -- is Chris Davis with the Rangers. That is a hitter's park, no doubt. But I've seen him go as high as the 4th-round in a new league and 1st-round in some keeper leagues, and I'm not sure on him yet. Could also have something to do with I hate anything about anything to do with the general Dallas area.

A guy whose value is dropping because of a still-unclear injury is Cleveland's Shin-Soo Choo. Injuns have too many people to DH already, so if he can't play the field then some people who have been drafting him in Top 50-100 are going to be disappointed.

One guy who you should consider is San Fran's Pablo Sandoval. He's going to get every opportunity to play one of the infield corners, also qualifies at catcher. Depending on your league, you might find him as late as the Player No. 160-180 range (including any keepers your league might have). Good shot at something like a .280-15-80 season.

Interesting Davis going that high. He showed last year when he was hot for awhile that he has some big time pop in his bat. I might go after him this year but I play in auction leagues.

Strikeouts are using going to count against in hitters in points leagues, but not most traditional rotisserie leagues.

Hanley Ramirez already was the concensus #1 for most people...even before Arod's injury.

Soria went pretty high in both drafts I've done so far. Some closers who should be excellent and went much lower included Chad Qualls, Heath Bell, and Mike Gonzalez.

Chris Davis hasn't been a bargain where he's going in drafts...but his teammate Nelson Cruz has. This guy is a fantasy beast! I was a little worried that Andruw Jones would make the team and take away at bats from him, but that isn't looking like much of a problem now.
