Not so sure that every coach knows the game plan, I see too many stagnant offenses when they play Cuse its more than just having a big on offense at the free throw line, I see teams do that but they dont know what to do after that. I agree it still takes the right personnel to beat it, you need some bigs who can make mid range jumpers, guards who can shoot on the perimeter and moving parts on offense. Matta ran a good offense against it, Ive seen Beilein run an almost perfect offense against opposing teams zones and Pitino consistently beats it. If Cuse ever ran decent offensive sets they'd have more than one title I suppose.

My point being that the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. When you get out there and see 10 long arms closing all passing lanes, that can turn any plan into a stagnant offense and this happens more often than not which is why it is successful.

I'm watching the Duke v. Arizona replay from the sweet 16 a couple years ago, it's incredible to believe Duke is still coached by the same guy.

Duke was a defensive monster in this game. Defending everything. There was a good 2 minutes where the majority of our on ball screens were happening at around half court, instead of on top of the key - all due to Duke and their relentless D. They were denying everything.

If this team could defend at half that level, they'd be dangerous.

Because the team doesn't come close to the same defensive intensity only 2ish years after I am watching an incredible defensive team.

It's odd to see such a difference in something like that from year to year.
