    When cool bands get old
Depeche Mode used to rock. They were energetic and exciting. For years, I blindly bought every CD they put out. As the years passed, I liked their music less and less (even though I still liked the alternative genre).

    Here's where they are today:

The lead singer... He's not old, but he... I don't know, he *seems* old. I admit, the earliest DM CDs came out over 20 years ago, but some groups age better than others.

A group that aged well... The Police.

Justin when you make threads like this you are supposed to put a 'OT' in the title because this is off topic in the players forum.

tryin to keep this place clean.

      god bless.

I thought Depeche Mode's 2005 album was decent, especially for such an old band. But yeah..not interested in seeing them live at this point.

I always thought they are overrated..i´d rather bang my head to some real rock/metal than listening to this electronic mixed up stuff.

That's why I'm an lifelong REO Speedwagon fan. Their sounds never gets old, and their new albums always have four or five awesome tunes on them without fail.

Justin, if you want a new wave band from the 80's that aged well. It is U2. No one else comes close. The Police? No.

dinosaur jr had fallen into this category but their last album with all the original members was actually really good.
