I was there last august..... don't wanna watch those vids though..... man those things are out in the middle of nowhere... there are no fricking gas stations within 20 miles of the place except right before the airport and they jack up the prices there about 25%

Been to DIA about 15 times. It is a nice facility and it is in the middle of phucking nowhere. Far from downtown. If you broke phux ever make it to Denver, be sure to check out the 16th street mall (downtown party hub) and try and squeeze in a daytrip to Rocky Mth Nat Park. Stay away from a tranny hooker that goes by "Nut Meg." Shim gave me the phucken shits for a week!

I have been there too...Archie is right, it is like being in the big tent. It is a really strange setup and in a weird location. Then there is that whole business with that Demon Red Eyed Bronco that is at the airport too...that freaked me out.

DIA is out in the middle of nowhere but it's one of the best airports in the US, IMO. Isn't Cloak and Dagger from Sacramento? SMF is also in the middle of nowhere (15 minutes from downtown with no traffic, 30+ minutes from where most people who use it live) and it's a tiny airport.Comment -

I've flown through there on a few occasions, including flying out that day in Nov 2001 when that plane went down in Rockaway. Figured they were going to ground everything so close to Sept 11th, but they didn't that day. The roof is a bit weird I guess, but other than that I don't really recall anything remarkable (good or bad) about the airport.
What I do know is when they first opened, they had some of the largest terminal fees for airlines at the time, shooting flights into Denver way up. It was actually cheaper, by $150-$200 or so then to buy a ticket from San Fran to Colorado Springs, with the flight stopping in Denver before going on to CS. People were going to Colorado Springs, renting their cars there and driving the 50-60 miles back up to Denver. Either that or if they had carry on luggage only, they would simply get off in Denver, put some "I goofed up" story on the airlines as their excuse and save the money that way. Airlines caught on real quick and put the squahitas on that move.Comment
