"So, yeah, everything in my life," Freeborough said. "I can't have a bad day and go home and tell him. I have to be happy when I go home because everything we have is wrapped up in this company."

doesn't that sound like some of you degens. going all in on some heavy fav and lost...can't tell your family that you got screwed.

Life is gambling. Driving a car is gambling. Riding a bicycle on the street is gambling. Starting a business is gambling. Getting married is gambling. Having kids is gambling. The way not to gamble is to do nothing, imho.

Every venture and decision in which the outcome is not 100% certain is a gamble.

The gambler's universe is fluid and full of possibility. By studying probability he improves his decision making across the board. Non-gamblers are those delusional ones who believe that they know exactly what will happen next, because their universe is frozen and neatly ordered. The real universe refuses to participate in such idiocy, and leaves them wondering why, on the ruins of their 'misfortune'.

Business (and everything else in life) is a lot more random than people think.

You guys are funny trying to rationalize your addiction. I agree that starting a business is very risky and most businesses fail in their first year but buying a lawn mower and cutting grass for a living is not gambling, it's sure money as long as you work hard and don't act stupid. Starting Microsoft was a no brainer for Bill Gates, sure there was a risk but the reward was well worth the risk. Investing in the stock market is a risk as well but even with this horrendous economic condition it broke even for the last 10 years. How many gamblers break even in 10 years???

We all know that the odds are against us in gambling. Sure you may be a great capper but the writing is on the wall before the game begins.

GIA, come to terms with reality. You cannot win in this business, its impossible.

(and sure there are going to be a few outliers that do win, but is it really worth it?)
