Havent seen it but hope they win. Saw a report on the kids in the movie and they really live in slums. One family has lived under a plastic tarp for 9 years! They were paid just $3000 for their roles. Puts the Hollywood phonies to shame!

I saw both Slumbog Millionaire and Benjamin Button and there is simply no comparison between the 2.

Benjamin Button was light years the better movie with far better acting and a far better story line.

I also saw No Country for Old Men which was mediocre at best and that movie won Best Picture last year so its easy to see why Slumdog is such a lock.

Those voters don't have a clue.

Henson for Supporting Actress is the "steam play" of the Oscars.

From what I've heard/read, Slumdog is indeed a lock. However, the critics and hollywood people also love "The Reader". They also like Kate Winslet. Almost certain that Winslet gets best actress and The Reader does not get best picture. But I put $10 on The Reader at +3500 just for the hell of it.. I don't feel like laying so much for, in my opinion, a good but not great movie in Slumdog.

I like Slumdog. I rate it a 7.5 out of 10. It is currently sitting at -759 for Best Picture and I don't think it's that good. I wouldn't even think about betting that line so I don't feel it's a lock.

I thought Slumdog was a bit overrated, but still a decent movie. I still haven't had time to see The Wrestler, and I really want to see it. As long as Sean Penn and his movie don't win anything, I'll be happy.

They must have gotten tired of Eastwood. "Mystic River, then "A Million Dollar Baby" were up there most recently of his, I do remember Mystic River winning best picture, unsure what the other won but it was nominated as I recall.
