I am an ACC homer (UNC fan) which may take some value out of my opinion but I think Duke -13 is pretty good. I am laying the pts. with duke tonight but only for a half unit play. This doesn't show much confidence in my pick but Duke has been really inconsistent this year. With that being said I do believe Duke will splatter St John's tonight. Should be a 18-24 pt game.

its an obscene amount of points to lay on the road vs a .700 home team
and duke is capable of barely beating, or losing, to just about any team, as we have seen with clemson, bc, and unc lately

not that st johns is in those categories, but they are at home, at 13 or 13.5 is a ton

duke's defense has been just average the past few games and 13 points is a lot to cover on the road, however st johns is not very good. 9 of their home wins were against out of conference nobodys.

the problem with this game is ACC > big east

stj's only win over a team better than them was vs notre dame. and that was after they lost at home by 14 to vt and then by 14 to miami.

i'm staying away from this game since i'm leaning that stj will cover, but duke really needs to regain their confidence and who better to take out their frustrations on than an average team from an inferior conference. blowout anyone? and the wild card is how bias the refs will be for/against duke.

so no play is the right play.

Marbles, I wouldn't think too much about the VT and Miami game, as this super young team has gained alot of experience since then.

and for this argument, it doesn't matter who SJU has beat straight up, its about how many have they covered?

SJU, is streaky and runs on emotions... and if they get down they give up on defense and then they lose by 20+

if they start out okay the first part of the first half, they will get the crowd behind them and keep it close....

they player hyper defense.... this SJU team has a lot of size, I think they can pound with Duke if they have Big East officials and get duke frustrated.

I wouldn't be super suprised if this game was a 2 point game and straight up SJU win

i think duke wins, but i think its a 6 or 7 pt game, not twice that
we shall see
i have yet to see duke do anything remotely impressive over the last month
