    NCAA selection committee
Let's say Kentucky ends up 20-10 and loses first round of the SEC tourney.... do they get into the big dance, because they have one of the more exciting players to watch (Meeks), despite not really having any signature wins?

do you think the selection committee is able to keep themselves unbiased from things like that? do cbs have any input/leverage into their decisions?

how many people are actually on this committee?

All I care about is my Illini and I am so excited because regardless of where they are in the first round, I will be there!

It all depends on if a bubble team wins their conference tournament. Last year San Diego would not have made the tournament, if they did not win their conference tournament. I dont think the committee considers individual players when picking teams, but I do know that injuries to players can affect seeding. I believe Cincinnati got knocked down a couple of spots when Kenyon Martin got hurt.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive is the Head of the NCAA Selection Committee

        Keep that in mind

realistically, what do they need to do to get in?

they have some tough games coming up (for the SEC) so winning 2 or 3 of those would probably get them in, how the hell does the SEC get 5 teams in though????

                Mississippi State
                LSU
                South Carolina
                Kentucky
                Tennessee
                Florida

6 teams competing for 4 or 5 bids basically...Kentucky needs to get a win in the SEC Tourney along with winning at least 2 of the big 4 games left (Tenn, Lsu, @ S Car, @ FL).

how many wins did tucky have last year? 19? 18? 20?

this year they don't really have any big signature wins against ranked teams...so I think they need to do some work to impress the committee still

but my thesis is, that even if they really don't do too much this year, they'll get in because the tourney needs the star power of a meeks... a guy like him could carry a medicocre kentucky team through the sweet 16
