    ESPN and Sports Gambling
Didnt know if anyone saw Outside the Lines this morning, but the topic was offshore gaming. Not bad info and they showed how the BOS stuff unfolded and how recently the sportsbook.com exec was arrested in the NYC airport. And they had the sumbag Wayne Allen Root on there as well as former OU alum Tony Castillas. Nothing gonna happen this year, but looks like they gonna push the bill hard in 2007.

I missed this one and forgot to record it.

"IF" we can make it thru 2007 without this bill passing at all, then we should be safe due to the big election in 2008 IMO

So much of what happens, or doesn't happen, in 2007 will be determined by the mid-term elections coming up in a couple of months. I strongly encourage all of you who are not registered to get out there now and register to vote. Booting the imcumbents who favor restricting or totally outlawing on-line gambling is one way we can all make an impact on this.

I also missed this program on ESPN. If anyone sees it coming up on a replay, please let me know.

I wanted to hit mute when Root was talking. He kept saying the same thing over and over it was annoying. Other than that, it was a good show.

                        Nice show.

They made reference to Majorwager (Russ Hawkins), Jay Cohen, and Haden Ware the other co-founder of WSEX. Also Betonsports of coarse, which Russ said still owes him about $20K.

Thanks for the heads - up. I just caught the episode RIGHT after reading about it on here.

What is funny is how coy the NFL is about the whole topic of betting.
If it weren't for betting, there'd be almost no fan-base for television (i.e. where they make all their money).
Marketing isn't the ONLY reason why the NFL is king right now...
Speaking out against gambling probably isn't the wisest thing the NFL should do - whereas taking the high-road is probably the method.
Not that their words will detract what I do - I'd watch it even if I couldn't bet... But there's no way in hell I'd give a damn about the games that weren't between 1-7PM ET, which was one of the best points I heard on the OTL program. I almost never watched the 'other' games (MNF, Thursday games, etc) unless my team was playing for all but maybe 5 years of my life, and those years I had action.

Did anyone see how ESPN introduced The Major? A professional gambler!!! This guy was never one and not one now. Why does everyone lie?? Did ESPN ask him how much he stole from Securebuxx?? LMAO!!

Did ESPN ask him how much bribe money he took from books to cover them up and hide that they were not going bankrupt and for players to post up there?? LMAO!!

I think gambling certainly is huge part of their success, but the NFL would still be successful even without gambling IMO.
