TMZ: "Jameis Winston being investigated for felony sexual assault"

First of all, it is TMZ.

But the incident happened over a year ago.

Here is the story:

Florida State QB Jameis Winston -- frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy -- is being investigated for felony sexual assault, TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement and other sources tell TMZ ... a woman filed a sexual assault complaint with the Tallahassee PD on December 7, 2012. She claims the alleged sexual assault was committed with the use of "physical force."

According to the police report, the motive for the alleged crime was "sexual gratification." The alleged victim says drinking was involved before the incident.

The police report says on the day in question, someone called the cops at 4:01 AM. When police arrived, we're told there were photos taken of the alleged victim's injuries as well as physical evidence collected.

According to the police report, the incident occurred in an apartment.

Powell Latimer if Warchant.com reported - TMZ reported Wednesday evening that FSU quarterback Jameis Winston is under investigation for felony sexual assault.
We've got copy of the official police report from the incident, which allegedly took place on Dec. 7, 2012. Winston is not named anywhere in the report and the person described in the report was listed as between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 and around 240 pounds. The report states that there were physical injuries to the victim and photos of those injuries.

Florida State has not issued a statement as of yet about the incident. The Tallahassee Police Department is continuing its investigation and has consulted with the Florida State Attorney's office as to the direction of the case. TPD has declined to comment further at this time.

We'll have more information as soon as we get it.

I would have been more suspicious of the girl if she had JUST brought this to light. But it appears she immediately called the cops when it happened over a year ago. Most of the times you see the girl come out of the woodworks and go to the police once the player gets famous. This doesnt appear to be the case. Now I'm suspicious as to why it is JUST NOW being brought to light by authorities. Cover-up for a promising young player? I wouldn't put it past FSU.
