OT : What was the rush on the Stimulus Bill?

OK, all I heard last week was rush rush rush, so much so they didnt have the time to read the damn bill before rushing to vote on it.

It was passed Friday but there is no rush to sign it by Obama

He could have signed it Saturday or Sunday or Monday but nooooooooo. He will wait til Tuesday.

If Obama was going to drag his feet it would've been better to delay the vote 48 hrs like they said they would do and allow the senators to read the bill yet more importantly allow the US citizenry to read the bill and have input by contacting their two senators.

They're actually getting something done in Washington and you're complaining?

This bill has been circulating for weeks, there was plenty of time to comment on it. The only issue was getting those extra 3 votes in the senate, everything else was down party lines. Unless you live in Maine or Pennsylvania, you've got no room to complain about contacting your senator. Those were the states that the "turncoat 3" came from. It's all pretty academic otherwise.

Obama dragging his feet does seem wierd. He's the one pushing it. He should know what's in it by now. I think he's got some 5 day waiting period campaign promise that he's trying to stick to.
