Man up. Don't lie to the guy, just say you are a broke degenerate, but that you aren't a stiff. Pay him $50 a week until it's paid off and stop gambling.

#77It's not standard industry to give a mulligan, not the boiler room I worked for, and none of the other shops gave a mulligan to the best of my knowledge.Originally posted by Ralphie HalvesProbably something like....
"Hey man, life is tough, I get it. These bookies are all bark and no bite. Just disappear. Your $800 aint worth a drop in the bucket to these people, much less an assault charge, you'll be fine. I worked for a shop a few years back, it's industry standard to give all players one mulligan. It's just good business in the long run."
But nobody said that, because it's all shit.
We have given a regular or two a 'discount', but never a mulligan.Comment -

#82Yes yisman it's an inside joke I posted on a thread between RUTGERS football team versus university of Houston a few weeks ago... "The Situation" is a character in a reality TV show known as "Jersey Shore"... As for this thread payment plan is best to do and not be a stiff...Originally posted by yismanwhat would be the pun? #86I worked for one of these guys too...did some "collections". Most books aren't going resort to anything that will draw attention to them and will offer payment plans or "deals" in some cases, but you'll still be labeled a stiff if you bolt. If someone crosses this thread in the future and is thinking about running, hopefully the one they take away from is what Nash said. It's a small world, especially in a smaller city, your paths will cross one day.Originally posted by stevenashThis.
I used to work for an 'office'
Most books understand, tell him you can pay 50 or 100 a week until the debt is paid.
If you continue to gamble with him, have him limit you, by that I mean, once you are down a certain amount, you are cut off until you pay it down.
Most books are not hardasses, they are business men, they understand and most will work with you.
Don't stiff anybody, once you are labeled a stiff, it's a tough label to get rid of, and it's pretty low.Comment -
