25 Cent Quarter Pounders at McDonalds?

I keep hearing rumors of this happening today as today is the anniversary of something to do with one of the founders. But I can't find much of anything on the internet about it.

I guess there was a facebook group dedicated to this but that could of been a hoax too. Does anyone know if this is fact or fiction?

Don't know if it's true or not. All I know is 25 cents is still too steep a price to get me to go to McDonalds.

From what I saw...it said they were limiting people to 8 because of high demand. Who really knows if it is true though.

Because there is no mention of it on their website doesn't always mean it isn't true. Maybe they don't want to really let everyone know that much as demand will be that high anyway? I don't know, just a thought....You might be right though. Saw it a few places on the internet but nothing confirmed it yet because it is supposed to start at noon EST.

True... but what are promotions for? To PROMOTE. Giving away food at a discounted price quietly under the table just doesn't seem like a good business strategy to me.

No mention of it on a quick yahoo search either.

Hoax is correct....I guess in South Florida they are doing a Buy one get one for a quarter deal but I don't even think that is happening everywhere so check with mcDonalds before going. I am seeing on other message boards when google it that people are getting laughed at all over the country for asking for the deal.

I got laughed at one time when I tried to order a "Shaq Pack" at Burger King a few years back...

now we know why americans in general are overweight.. this is a sad day if true. btw, 1/4 pounder with cheese is by far my fav food in life, even more than a rib steak or anything else. maybe KFC is tied with it.. but i have been eating so healthy of late, and lost a bit of weight, and no way i will go even if it's free.. it is tempting, but if i go have 6 today, i will regret it right after and cry..and probably the stomach pains, too.. not worth the 19 minutes of glory while eating those 6 burgers.

probably trying to get everyone hooked on the south American beef they supposed are using more of now. they claim the US doesn't have enough to meet their demands, so they have to import.
