Detroit area legal sportbook...read on...100% legal
Today was the first day of Casino Windsor sportbook operation, Legends. For who are not familar with the area, Windsor is couple minutes away from Downtown Detroit into Canada. A lot of people are going to the sportbook, the only one that is locally around Detroit area besides Vegas. If you live in Detroit area like Myself, everyone considers Windsor a local city that is in a different country. Only 5 minutes away either by bridge or underwater tunnel. I was there today and it was a madhouse. It was absolutely amazing...people from Ohio to Indiana over there place bets. Good job Windsor, everyone in Detroit is so happy about this new operation. Maybe Detroit big three Casinos will step up and lobby legal sportbooks in Detroit. Who knows.

By the way. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I think this is huge news especially in the midwest and especially most of Detroiters that know about Casino Windsor that is minutes away.

Do they have bonuses? What's the rollover? Do they have free Neteller withdrawals?

You bring up an interesting point taco. I'd like to know if they offer phone accounts, and if so how does that work with the U.S. citizens.

So - for fear of asking the obvious - sportsbetting is 100% perfectly legal in Canada, then?

Always went to windsor before I turned 21 now its only greektown casino. I have been wondering about this sportsbook myself so maybe you can help datek. When I first read of it opening it said there would be min of 3 bets required. All you from canada know about the parlay system already in place. So is this really just a sportsbook that only takes parlays? Any info is appreciated b/c I will be back in Detroit soon

                  Casino Windsor Offers Sports Betting
                  1 September 2006

WINDSOR, Michigan – As reported by the Detroit News: "Casino Windsor will begin offering sports betting next Friday -- marking the first time Metro Detroiters will have access to live sports wagering.

"Looking to tap the sports and gambling passions of its American neighbors, the riverfront casino is opening a multimillion-dollar, 170-seat sports lounge, where gamblers can wager on pro football, basketball, hockey and baseball games, as well as college football and basketball.

"…Gaming experts expect the Legends Sports Lounge, which took seven months to build, will be a major draw.

"…While this is a first for Windsor, sports betting is available at casinos in other regions of Canada. Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls, Ontario, recently opened a $10 million sports betting lounge.

"…Casino Windsor's new lounge includes 36 video display terminals that will feature sporting events. It will offer a stadium-style menu featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings…"

Probably will be dealing shitty lines knowing that they will be in high demand for those who have concerns about offshore wagering.

If somebody has been there and knows different than tell me that I'm wrong...but I believe they only accept three team parlays at crappy odds...this is really a non-story as far as Midwestern advantage sports bettors are concerned.

Not 100% legal its one of those grey areas that our government doesn't really touch or look into. Bookies still have to look over there shoulder from time to time but players don't.
