NBA all star game: Wrong team favored!

We can evaluate the NBA all stars this year on an equal footing because of the Olympics. I think the top 5 players for USA basketball were:

1. Wade
2. James
3. Bryant
4. Howard
5. Anthony

Of those five, three of them are playing for the East and Anthony won't be in the all star game.

I think the East is better from top to bottom. Paul is not 100%, Shaq hasn't had a good all star game in years. I think it's a mismatch in the East's favor.

Any thoughts on this?

A couple of years ago I remember the same situation for the WNBA all star game. The West was favored by 4 over the East and I knew the wrong team was favored. The East won that game by like 18 points.

Why don't people think the players take these games seriously? They really do want to win these games.

base on starting lineup. east is favored cause they have speed and youth on their side.

There's nothing wrong in playing wnba, or all star as long as you see it being in favor on one side. money earned in any game is the same when you cash it in.

Absolutely. I've made money on all star games before, some times they're the easiest to read. With this one, you've got three of the four best players from team USA on one team, how can that team not be considered the favorite?

I like the East in this one too. I'll probably put a little on it just so I can stand watching it. Not a game you can model effectively IMO. I normally can't stand the all-star game. I guess it was cool as a kid when Magic, Bird, and Jordan were playing but there are only so many ways a guy can dunk a ball before it gets repetitive and fairly boring...

The East is much stronger, imho. I just hope Iverson doesn't have an off shooting night. If he goes 1-10 from the floor then the East's hopes could go up in flames.

Let me put it this way, if the USA team was gonna have a scrimmage and the coaches put James, Wade, and Howard on one of the teams everyone would say that team is stacked. That's the correct term, stacked.

And on top of that oddsmakers make that team an underdog?

WOW, I am an east guy and you guys are on crack if you think the east is clearly better. First of all Kobe is the best player in the game, and as for Howard and Wade don't you think Chris Paul and Duncan are formidable to match up? The West has a much deeper bench and Stoudemire is an excellent player who lost his motivation on a terrible Phoenix team that has no chemistry. I would be very surprised to see the east win this game and feel the west will roll.

I like the east for the fact that they are playing in Phoenix. That means the west are going to try to get Shaq or more likely Amare (maybe last game there) the mvp.
More touches for amare is not good for any team especially an all-star team.
