#9I flew on Continental this morning... Colgan flight 3407 en route to Buffalo, Cause of crash, sleet and rain. 49 reportedly dead but the FAA said only 44 on board. no survivors. 1 person on the ground reported dead.
This brings up something that I stand by and that's that I do not fly in bad weather. I don't travel to cities that have snow, rain, hail, lightning, fog, smog, etc... I wait it out. I've had many people rag me for this but I stand by my guns. I researched hundreds of plane crashes and pilot error, mechanical problems and weather are the top 3 causes for a crash. You may not be able to control the first two (although I try to talk to the pilot before we leave just to make sure there not drunk) you can certainly control flying in bad weather.
I have never had any problems telling airline personnel to rebook me because I don't fly in the rain. They have always accommodated. That's pretty telling in itself.Comment -
