Good decision. I post here even when I don't play so don't go AWOL.

Don't get back into the game until you have some hard rules in place and you manage your money. Set a loss limit and stick to it. Anything greater than 10% of your income is stupid. Stick to your guns and your rules. Be a man of your word to yourself, because it's easy to fool everyone around you like your wife. The minute you lie to yourself is the moment you need to quit for good. If that happens, pick up another vice (xbox, cigarettes, alchohol, etc.) as it may be easier to kick.

I never tell my wife about my wins. I'll let her know about my losses though. I'll throw her a bone every once in a while when I'm up big.

It seems like to have been a kind of curse over the board last night.. lots of the best cappers picks around here were down last night, especially on CBB.

Problem when big amounts of juice is gone suddenly, its to assume it and take it in a rationale way. Usually the mind feels with the most of the urgencies the need to recover and reset to previous situacion the quickiest as possible, and that may lead to take wrong choices.

Of all the sbr posters...this stunned me! I read this in disbelief! Here is a guy who is a great capper! He went on a losing streak this week and got wiped out that quick. Once again money management has to play a role here... Hopefully everything works out for you... I mentioned this on another thread about the Kelly Criterion and gambling... Justin had posted a thread on it and honestly maybe everyone in here should watch, I am going to try and find...or if someone else finds it first post i here please...

I finally broke the news to my wife this afternoon. She didn't take it that well. I'm spending the weekend at a motel. She gave me this list before I packed my bag. I need you to help me answer these questions:
                            1. Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling?
                            2. Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
                            3. Did gambling affect your reputation?
                            4. Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
                            5. Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
                            6. Did gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
                            7. After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
                            8. After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more?
                            9. Did you often gamble until your last dollar was gone?
                            10. Did you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
                            11. Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
                            12. Were you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures?
                            13. Did gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family?
                            14. Did you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
                            15. Have you ever gambled to escape worry, trouble, boredom or loneliness?
                            16. Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?
                            17. Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
                            18. Do arguments, disappointments or frustrations create within you an urge to gamble?
                            19. Did you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling?
                            20. Have you ever considered self destruction or suicide as a result of your gambling?

                              lol.. are you bored pavy?

Seriously though.. is it bad to go on a crazy win streak and then lose it all just as quickly? like is that really a problem? I did that in the summer.. stopped when I got back down to my initial bankroll, and took a break to re-think things. my wife was like, "oh I was hoping you'd keep gambling so you could win it back"..

I just went back and re-read this thread. At first I didn't pick up on the anguish in Pavy's posts. I fear this is actually pretty serious.

Sorry Pavy. If I were you, I'd try to make it all back on the Mud Hens.

Pavy, this is a result of your bad karma accumulated by many years of pride, a haughty spirit, and pure assholishness in your life. When I posted my Job story and you went online to find your favorite Leviticus quote to mock me, you incurred the wrath of the Almighty. God has decided to teach you a lesson, Pavy, and he won't stop until you repent. Did it ever occur to you that the entire story of Job may visit itself upon you now? I'll pray for you, since you're my enemy, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear of a freak tornado collapsing your house and making you homeless.

To fade is to play the other side of a bet...

If the Celts and Lakers are playing and you think the Celts are the play, if I bet on the Lakers, I'm fading you...

RJ, you're the best. Apparently I'm not the only one who is seeing all the holes in Pavy's act start to gape. Apparently being the winningest poster on SBR wasn't getting Pavy enough attention, so he's gonna try being the worst. Methinks he got jealous of all the notoriety that DacBietViet gets. It's certainly true that losers get far more attention than winners around these parts.
