World Chess Championship - Big line adjustment
The Chess belt is up for grabs in a couple weeks as defending champ Viswanathan Anand defends against Norwegian 22 yr. old wonder kid and the worlds #1 ranked player, Magnus Carlsen.

Yesterday, at pinnacle, Carlsen was listed as the -400 favorite, and today he's down to -260. Curious as to what size bets they are taking on this, and what prompted the sudden odds drop (was the line that bad?). Is this one of those novelty offerings with a few hundred max before adjustments, or are they taking 1k+ bets on this? -

Valid point. I also just noticed all the matches are being held in Anand's home country of India. Maybe the home court advantage is worth more in chess than I thought. Guess they don't think Carlsen will be at his best after eating curry and other spicy dishes for 10 days.

Well first off who would you want to roll with...

The Indian dude who looks stressed as fukk?

Chess games of Viswanathan Anand, career statistics, famous victories, opening repertoire, PGN download, discussion, and more.

Or the dude who looks like the Kimi Raikkonen of the chess world?

Chess games of Magnus Carlsen, career statistics, famous victories, opening repertoire, PGN download, discussion, and more.

The Norwegian dude probably pushes kids over and doesn't give a fukk.

Here are some results of a match they had earlier this year (of course it is a computerized version of the moves they made).

Curious as to what size bets they are taking on this, and what prompted the sudden odds drop (was the line that bad?). Is this one of those novelty offerings with a few hundred max before adjustments, or are they taking 1k+ bets on this? -

That shit is every bit intense as playing in a football game, but with your mind. Especially when it is for cash and it's a 6 hr game with potential for extra time.

                                                    Pretty fun.

Playing for money is obviously the way I would lean. Pretty common to see a cash game. Every major tournament has a room dedicated to cash games, usually times are around 5 mins a side type games. That is a good time. A lot of hustlers.

It's weird too, because chess people can come in all forms. I've been hustled by a 12 year old asain kid more times than I'd care to admit. Pretty much don't play those fukks if I don't have to anymore.

I won 6th grade chess tournament , called me the KIDDER PRODIGY.

Started drinking Vodka in 7th grade playing all these old Russian fukks.

Now I struggle to win the checker games at the old folks home for my community service.

Kind of, right after high school I made some nice coin because I was sandbagging the shit out of the lower ranks. All paying well enough.

Truthfully, I made way more when I was in high school in those side rooms, because I wasn't able to play in the legit tournaments.
