He was the 51s manager and he was almost always very calm and reasonable. Not a sideshow anymore. I don't know if that makes him qualified for the Tigers job, but he's far from 90's era Pinella.

The funniest moment I can remember from him this year was on local radio when he did an interview. They were talking about the book "The Bad Guys Won" about the 86 Mets and what would happen on the plane rides to and from games.
